Dan RuddProfile: Dan is a former Business Executive and Vice Chairman of the Tour of California's Santa Barbara Organizing Committee.  He is a long time
health, fitness & outdoor enthusiast.  He is a member of the Santa Barbara
Athletic Association, Santa Barbara Triathlon Club, runs with Santa
Barbara Running & Racing and rides for Team Chicken Ranch.  He and his
wife, Elda, are passionate supporters of the SBIM in that it promotes
personal fitness, adds to the character of our community while stimulating
the local economy.


Section B Team Captain: Bill Rupp (ruppww@aol.com)

Geographic Area: Cathedral Oaks down Los Carneros across 101, end at Hollister

Bill RuppProfile: Bill Rupp is from New Jersey but has lived in Santa Barbara County for over 25 years.  He has run one marathon (California International in Sacramento) but nowadays runs 5K's and 10K's.  Bill lives near mile 2 on the course and his typical Saturday morning run is the portion of the course that he will be working for the marathon.

Geographic Area: Hollister and Los Carneros including Hollister intersection, UCSB housing back up to Start

Rachelle PeggProfile: Rachelle has been an avid adventure and sports junky since she was a little girl enjoying all of nature’s elements. I recently graduated from UCSB and is the director of Fundraising as well as a team member for Kanaia Outrigger Canoe Club.  Rachelle looks forward to being a part of the success that SBIM will have, not only on participants physically and mentally, but on the community as well!

Marilyn HansenProfile: Marilyn Hansen moved to Santa Barbara thirty years ago and started running around the same time.  She has been called the “Energizer Bunny” since she says she isn’t fast, but she just keeps going.  Marilyn is a programmer at Yardi Systems, where she has worked for 14 years.  She also helps take care of her two grandchildren, who are 5 and 1.  Besides volunteering for the Santa Barbara International Marathon she is involved with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life event and she is on the board of the Arthritis Foundation.



Angela ErdmannProfile: Originally from Minnesota, Angela moved to Santa Barbara in 2002 to live her dream of attending UCSB and living by the ocean. She is a Christian, athlete, and loves the outdoors. Angela is a member of the Santa Barbara Running and Racing Team and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s: Team in Training. To date, she has run five marathons. Angela also works at Spectrum Athletic Club as a Personal Trainer. She loves helping others reach their goals and dreams. Angela is blessed to live in the Santa Barbara community and is proud to be a volunteer for the first Santa Barbara International Marathon.

Geographic Area: Patterson and Cathedral Oaks, down Turnpike, cross 101, cross Hollister end at Bike Path

Patsy DorseyProfile: Patsy is a native Santa Barbarian. Patsy became involved with running at the age of 38.  Now, at the age of 64, she has participated in over 100 marathons, numerous ultras and triathlons, and a couple of Iron Man triathlons.  She has been the volunteer coordinator for many local races.  Her pride and joy is being the founder of the Santa Barbara Nine Trails.  Patsy is also involved with Relay for Life and other community fund raising.

Stan BraininProfile: Stan Brainin has lived in Santa Barbara for 15 Years and is active in Martial Arts & Yoga.  Stan is a Feldenkrais Practitioner and Movement Therapist.

Geographic Area: Modoc, Las Positas to Cliff end at Oliver Rd

Vida StrongProfile: Vida Strong has been a running enthusiast for more years than she wants to admit. With eight marathons and numerous 1/2 marathons and 10K and 5K's under her belt, her goal is to instill the love of running into everyone she meets, but especially kids.  As part of this effort, Vida is Secretary for Club West Youth Track, a local youth running organization in Santa Barbara.  Her running enthusiasm has also worn off onto her husband and two boys.

Geographic Area: Down Oliver Rd, Mesa to Finish

Maggie MasonProfile:
 Maggie Mason has been a resident of Santa Barbara since 1979.  She teaches English at Dos Pueblos High School, and is an avid runner.  Since she began racing at age 42, Maggie has competed in 15 marathons, and regularly runs in local races in the Santa Barbara area.  Maggie is a longtime member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association, and is a member of the Santa Barbara Running and Racing team.



Paulette Posch

Profile: Paulette Posch grew up in Minnesota but has lived in Santa Barbara since 1973, and has raised her family here.  Running became part of her life when she was in her 30’s as a means to stay fit while she was working and raising two sons.  She has run 8 marathons and participates in many of the local races.  She loves tennis, biking and skiing, but most of all running.
