Race Directors

Rusty SnowRusty Snow  is a local physiotherapist, and coach of the Santa Barbara Running and Racing team with Mike Swan, owner of Elite Rehab.  He is an outstanding athlete, qualifying for the Marathon Olympic Trials in 2000, and winning his age group category at the marathon Nationals, 2005.  He has been a board member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association since 2005.




June Snow June Snow
, wife of Rusty, is at home with their boys, Miles, age 7 and Blaise, age 3.  She was a 10 time All-American Athlete, while in College, and continued to compete at a high level from 1992-2000. From 2003-2005 she was an assistant track and field coach at Santa Barbara City College. 




Technical Delegate/Chief of Course


Dan CampbellDan Campbell
 is Chief of Course and Technical Delegate.  He has coached numerous Maine State and National champions in skiing, track and field and cross country, as well as Olympic caliber athletes.  He also started the first triathlon series in New England, and has produced 65 races in 25 years.





Finish Line Coordinator


Wally MarantetteWally Marantette
 is the Finish Line coordinator.  He is a highly respected member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association, and keeps many of the sports events in production: set-up, breakdown, course markings and timed in a controlled, timely, sophisticated way.


EXPO Coordinator


Joe DevresseJoe DeVrees
, owner of Santa Barbara Running, is EXPO coordinator.  He is a local business owner who has grown with tremendous success in the 5 years he has been in business.






Barricade Company


RP BarricadeRichard Penhallow
, owner of RP Barricade, Thousand Oaks, is owner Barricade and Safety engineer.  He will provide much of the equipment needed to produce the event.  He will also provide designs and traffic strategies for the event.


Webmaster

Tamara BerndtTamara Berndt is our website development director.  She moved to Santa Barbara in 1996 to work at the corporate headquarters for Yardi Systems where she serves as the product manager to develop software for the residential marketplace.   Tamara currently runs with Santa Barbara Running & Racing coached by Mike Swan and Rusty Snow and is a member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association.





Medical Volunteer Coordinator


Dawna AshtonDawna Ashton
 is the Medical Coordinator.  She is the director of Safety and Preparedness at the American Red Cross, Santa Barbara Chapter.  She will coordinate CPR and First Aid Certified staff for water and Aid Stations.




Volunteer Coordinator

Anita HoAnita Ho, Volunteer Coordinating Superstar will be the head coordinator of all volunteer coordinators. She coordinates volunteers for many of Santa Barbara’s Events, including the Solstice Parade, SB Half Marathon, and SB Triathlon.






Editor-in-Chief


Maggie MasonMaggie Mason
 
is our Editor-in-Chief.  She is an English teacher at Dos Pueblos High School and an active member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association.  She plans to run the inaugural SBIM as her 16th marathon.





Program Editor


Kim BurnellKim Burnell
 
is production editor, developing and producing our advertisement and athlete profile brochure.  Kim is also a terrific local athlete.






Marketing Director


Elda RuddElda Rudd
 
is marketing director.  Elda is an active member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association and Santa Barbara Triathlon Club, both of which help her keep up with training for running and triathlons. Elda is Vice President of Marketing at 724 Solutions in Santa Barbara.







Jeff CaronElite Athlete Coordinator

Jeff Caronis an experienced athlete who currently resides in New England and competes for the New Balance Boston Elite Team.  Following a successful career at the University of Maine, he won the New England XC Championships in 2007 to highlight the start of his post-collegiate career. While Jeff continues to travel around the country competing at high level races, he also works for the Greater Boston Running Company. His experience also includes being on the race staff for Boston's Run to Remember and helping with promotion of the NB Boston Twilight Series.
